Resident DJS

*****update 11/10/03

Mechanical Garden has very unfortunately closed. The club was broken into last weekend and an insane amount of necessary gear was stolen. After quite a few monetary setbacks like this, the club owner has decided to throw in the towel and this was a venue our goth/industrial scene here in Oklahoma was, unfortunately, not big enough to afford on its own, without the club owners help. The rent on this venue was about 5000 a month! It was a lovely and much appreciated refuge while it lasted. I know it is already missed dearly by myself. Where else could local artists/musicians/djs display their wicked talents in a multi million dollar venue, you know? The really sad thing is that the club was obviously broken into by someone who worked there and knew where certain things were stashed. Everyone that worked there was someone whos life essentially revolves around the scene, like mine. Djs, Musicians, promoters, devoted fans of the music.See thats the really fucked up twist.......Some one withIN our scene broke into this club and dropped the last straw on the club owners back. Thats fucking wrong. The greed of a few selfish fucks raping the benefits deserved by whole. Oh yeah........thats just a small, rippling reflection of how our capitalistic marketplace works at large huh? I need to get out of this place.

Mechanical Garden is a weekly, goth industrial club night in Oklahoma City (OKC), Oklahoma on Sunday nights. The venue, Club Sanctuary, is literally, the best venue in the SW United States, hands down. Its in an old 3 story cathedral, which is completely decked out inside. The Church is filled with more memories, ambiance, energy, and life than just about any building around, let alone one run by and for the underground electronic music culture. The bottom floor, where the main dance floor and bar reside, has one room with a really beautiful vaulted ceiling that goes all the way to the top of the third story. Sinister, antique metal work glides throughout the ceiling w/ 5 or 6 huge industrial as bloody hell metal/antique chandaliers hanging down throughout the bottom floor. Club Sanctuary has excellent sound with the states most impressive in house lighting. The lighting consists of an army of "technobeam" intelligent lights, video projection with a large projection screen over everbody's heads on the main dancefloor, a professional green "liquid sky" type laser, as well as beautifully programmed displays of all the traditional color washes, strobes, etc. I will be uploading pictures of the venue shortly. I am very pleased to be a part in the management of this venue, once a week, as it is the best one I have ever come across in my career.

Aside from our resident djs spinning the most cutting edge underground electronics and classic favorites, we also host a swarm of the most talented regional djs, live bands, and performance artists on a regular basis

Although, this is a "club" event, we are going to try to focus on having upstairs possess a laid back atmosphere, most of the evenings, so you can get together with friends and socialize without having to shout over the dance room music. The main dance floor is located in the center of the bottom floor and has more than enough room for everyone to dance, no matter how "interpretive". We also have a second dance floor on the bottom floor in the back room where we host a bit harsher music and local live bands.

In addition to the music, we will be hosting a steady stream of performance artists several times a month including BDSM, fire troupes, film showings, suspension acts, fashion shows, national bands, and any other form of dark art we can get our hands on.

This evening is just now in its infancy, but seriously has the potential of becoming the South West's most premiere goth industrial night. We are eager to work with other musicians/dancers/fetish models/djs/film makers/BDSM groups, fire troups, etc in the area who focus on the darker representations of life through art, or will be traveling through our area. We are not at all limited to "goth/industrial" cages and definitions of what good art is. If its dark and talented, you will most likely find an audience here. We would love to hear from you, and let you share your art with everyone in the area. If you have a wicked skill or vision and would like to share it, we are ALWAYS looking for fresh talent, so please get in touch with me, for booking here
